Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Fair Begins

Thursday through Sunday, the Ag Fair returns for its 152nd year with a new adult ticket price and all the old favorite events and competitions. Here's what to know before you go.

It's fair time!

  1. The 152nd Martha's Vineyard Livestock Show and Ag Fair begins Thursday at the Agricultural Society, 35 Panhandle Road in West Tisbury (or as Google Maps insists on calling it, Vineyard Haven).
  2. The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Rides start at 10:30 a.m.
  3. Along with the rides, events include games, corn shucking and fiddle contests, skillet toss, horse pull, woodsmen competition, fiber-arts tent, dog and livestock shows. Find out much more by downloading the Fair Book.
  4. Tickets to the fair are $10 for adults (up from $8 in 2012), $5 for children aged 5-12 & adults 62 and older. Children under 5 are free.
  5. There are no detours on the way to the fair from Edgartown, Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven.
