Learn to Track Animals in Aquinnah

For your weekend agenda: Five fun things to do on the Vineyard this Saturday, Jan. 25, 2013.

1. Take the Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course at the YMCA of Martha's Vineyard Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and earn a 2-year certificate upon successfully completing the work: $110.

2. "The Art of Tracking" Workshop invites you to follow tracks and trails in sand or snow: "Learn to interpret different tracks, decipher the story they tell, and read the script of the earth. Often called the oldest form of science known to man, you may come to find out that tracking is much more than a science....and develops awareness, intuition and curiosity." $25 per person, maximum $35 per family, recommended ages 9 and older: 1 p.m. Saturday at Sassafras Earth Education, 5 Church St., Aquinnah.

3. The Minnesingers Mid-Winter Ball and Auction is a gala event to benefit The MVRHS Minnesingers. It starts at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown with music by the Sultans of Swing and a special Minnesingers appearance plus dancing, hors-d'oeuvres, cash bar, silent and live auction. Tickets $35  in advance, $40 at the door, available at TicketsMV.com or any Minnesinger member.

4. Saturday is also Family Trivia Night with Host Ray Whitaker. 7 p.m. Saturday at Alex's Place at the YMCA of MV: Donations welcome.

5. We learned on Facebook that the band Peg House, featuring Jason from Slip Away Farm  is playing at the Chappy Community Center Saturday with  Adam Howell opening at 7:30 p.m.
