The CapeFlyer train appears to be a hit with riders.

According to a Boston Globe report, nearly 9,000 passengers have taken the new train since service began between Boston and Hyannis on Memorial Day weekend.

Revenue from ticket sales has covered the $165,000 annual operation cost and service may be extended until Columbus Day, according to the report.

Part of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, the double-decker train travels between Boston and Hyannis once a day each way on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for $35 round trip. Woods Hole-bound passengers can connect via a bust at Buzzards Bay.

Demand over the Fourth of July holiday led to extra trips July 3 and 4.

Have you taken the CapeFlyer? Is it worth the ticket price? Tell us in the comments.
