Which Martha's Vineyard Restaurants are Open in January?

Island restaurants are closing and opening like live scallops on a shucking table this month.

Some eateries are taking a month or two off after the holidays (examples: Alchemy and The Square Rigger Restaurant in Edgartown); many are shuttered for the winter (Blue Canoe Waterfront Grill and Saltwater in Vineyard Haven are two); at least one has just come back from a holiday break (Little House Café in Vineyard Haven) while the Black Dog Bakery Café on State Road in VH was closed for "grooming" until Jan. 18, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.

There's even a new option for daytime dining in Vineyard Haven, where Tisberry has added soups, salads and coffees to its menu of frozen yogurts and smoothies. 

Here's an off-the-cuff list of eateries we're pretty sure are open this month, including phone numbers because it's always best to call first this time of year. If you see any errors or omissions, please leave a comment below and we'll update the list:
