Damien Derose, 27, faces multiple counts of breaking and entering, larceny and other crimes in an alleged burglary spree earlier this month, as well as heroin possession, reports the Vineyard Gazette. Arrest information does not indicate convictions.
A Pennsylvania man who told police he is a musician faces a string of charges after he was arrested Aug. 18 on suspicion of stealing approximately $85,000 worth of property from eight Martha's Vineyard homes, some of which apparently were left unlocked, according to newspaper accounts.
The Vineyard Gazette reports that bail was set at $90,000 for 27-year-old Damien Derose, who is due back in court Sept. 16 on multiple charges of breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, larceny from a building and larceny over $250, as well as one count each of malicious destruction of property over $250, attempting to commit a crime and possession of heroin.
Among the property stolen during the break-ins, the Gazette reports, were laptops, thousands of dollars in American and British cash, prescription drugs and more than $50,000 worth of jewelry including a $15,000 diamond ring.
