How to Donate Thanksgiving Dinner on Martha's Vineyard

The Vineyard Committee on Hunger Family-to-Family program lets Islanders help Islanders have a happy Thanksgiving meal in their own homes.

Would you like to help a hungry Island family have a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings? Here's a message, via Facebook, from the Vineyard Committee on Hunger Family-to-Family program:

"For $25 you can purchase a complete Thanksgiving meal for a family in need. This meal includes a turkey, bags of apples, oranges, carrots, potatoes, and onions, along with a squash, stuffing mix, pumpkin pie mix, cranberry sauce and eggs. Please send checks to Vineyard Committee on Hunger, PO Box 4685, Vineyard Haven, 02568 and indicate it is for F2F in the memo field on the check. What a great way to share a Vineyard Thanksgiving. If you know a family in need please have them phone 508-693-5339."

Other ways to help Island hungry, from the Island Food Pantry website:

  • "Checks can be made out and mailed to the Island Food Pantry at P.O. Box 1874, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568.
  • Include The Island Food Pantry in your will; our Endowment Fund has been essential in order for us to meet our expenses.
  • Put current and unopened boxed and canned foods in the purple collection boxes found in houses of worship and food markets across the Island.
  • We have a good supply of volunteers this year; however, if you have a specific talent or gift you wish to offer or if you really want to be a part of this work for an on-going commitment, call the Island Food Pantry Coordinator, Armen Hanjian, at 508-696-8225."
