LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION COURSE
The American Red Cross Lifeguarding course provides entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.
*Course does not include Waterfront Skills.
Certification: Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED for 2 years.
Prerequisites: Must be 15 years old on or before the last day of class, swim 300 yards continuously using front crawl or breaststroke, tread water for 2 minutes using only legs, and complete a timed event. All levels of swimmers are welcome.
Course Fee: $250.00. Scholarship opportunities are available. Potential employmentopportunities upon successful completion of the course.
