I've written prime time TV comedy for shows including Barney Miller, Laverne & Shirley and One Day At A Time. National magazine pieces have appeared in Cosmopolitan, Lear's, Women's World, the Utne Reader, and American Benefaction. I've written numerous articles for Cape Cod Life, Martha's Vineyard Magazine, Vineyard Style, and for the past 12 years have been a weekly contributor to The Vineyard Gazette. Books with Down East Books of Camden, Maine, are Haunted Island (1994), Ghosts of Boston Town (2002), Vineyard Confidential (2006), and Vineyard Supernatural (2008). I'm very excited to be joining the pool of journalists for Marthas Vineyard Patch.

I have a son, Charlie, 26, now breaking into show biz in LA, and my second-born is a Boston Terrier  named Huxley. I grew up in LA, studied to be an actress at the Pasadena Playhouse, then changed course, went to UCLA, and became a writer. My then-husband, Marty Nadler and I bought a house in East Chop in 1981, and moved here year-round in 1991 when Charlie entered 2nd grade (he was also born on the Island). From 2002 to 2008 I owned Sun Porch Books in Oak Bluffs. I also had a haunted houses walking tour business which I recently sold to two aspiring ghost hunters, Gary & Karen at the Vineyard Gazette. I love to travel but also hate to leave the Island, so that's a conflict I'm trying to work out.
