Growing up on Martha's Vineyard, and living on islands provides one with an insular life. Everyone pretty much knows everyone else and you really can't do much without the community watching. That's why it's important to be clear and honest. I know there are some reading this who may roll their eyes, and I certainly am not without "sin"...

I like to provide bicycles for the community and I also like to make pizza at The Orange Peel Bakery. I usually try to engage my friends and customers in meaningful and interesting dialog about virtually any topic I am familiar with.

A list of my recent and most-appreciated books:

Rise of the Vulcans: The History of Bush's War Cabinet. James Mann

The New Pearl Harbor: Disturbing Questions About the Bush Administration and 9/11-David Ray Griffen

Ishmael- Daniel Quinn

The Politics of Meaning- Rabbi Michael Lerner

The New Revelations: A Conversation with God- Neale D. Walsh

From Science to God- Peter Russell

The Family of Secrets: The Bush Dynasty and the Hidden history of the last 50 years- Russ Baker

The Wind Farm Scam- John Etherington

I am a registered Democrat and helped with the '08 Obama campaign. (I am however shocked and appalled by Obama's performance in office so far...)

I have read and appreciate most of Ron Paul's "Mainfesto"
