Ferry service to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket is expected to resume Sunday morning, according to the Steamship Authority.
The Steamship AUthority issued the following bulletin by email and on its website at 7:57 p.m. Saturday: Based on the latest forecast, the Steamship Authority expects service to resume on Sunday for Martha's Vineyard at 6:00am and at 9:15am for Nantucket. The Steamship Authority advises its customers to check the Authority’s website for further updates. High winds mean boats are still cancelled through Thursday night at the earliest
The Steamship Authority has cancelled boats between Martha’s Vineyard and Woods Hole and between Hyannis and Nantucket through Thursday night due to high winds. We will continue to update this article, but you can also visit the Steamship Authority website for the most up to date information.

Steamship Authority boats back on schedule
According to the Steamship Authority website, the SSA has received permission from the U.S. Coast Guard to resume its ferry service to and from Martha’s Vineyard. All boats are running between Woods Hole and Vineyard Haven on schedule. A further update for the Nantucket route will be issued as soon as the U.S. Coast Guard has completed an assessment of Hyannis and Nantucket harbors and we have received their permission to resume service.

The SSA released a notice Friday in anticipation of cancelled ferry service between Sunday Night and Tuesday
The Steamship Authority released this statement on Friday regarding possible trip cancellations due to Hurricane Sandy: Based on the most recent forecasts from the National Weather Service, the Steamship Authority anticipates possible trip cancellations Sunday night into Tuesday due to the potential impacts of Hurricane Sandy.
