While I definitely agree with Dogged, I have another idea. It also deals with dogs! It would be the Martha's Vineyard Puppy Palace! For a flat five or ten dollar fee, you get to spend as much time in a play area just FULL of puppies! Puppies everywhere! You can roll around with them, play with them, give kisses and guberschnaps (the technical term for 'tummy rubs') and just have an overall …   more ›

Shops "Pop-Up" in Edgartown

Blink and you'll miss them: Pop-up shops offer off-season shopping alternatives on Martha's Vineyard. The next one opens this Friday and Saturday only.

While many traditional Martha's Vineyard stores have yet to reopen for the 2013 getting-and-spending season, "pop-up shops" have begun appearing on the scene. These temporary retail operations, often lasting just a day or a weekend, have been popular in major cities for several years now, sometimes drawing long lines of shoppers eager to take advantage of limited-time sales. In Edgartown, the In the Pink Lilly Pulitzer store held a pop-up opening during the St. Patrick's Day festivities March 17, offering a limited-edition handbag. And this weekend, L'etoile restaurant on North Water Street becomes Stuff We Love, a popup boutique with "new and almost new, one of a kind furniture, clothing, shoes, jewelry, purses, linens and so much more," …
