"I think it’s a decision that makes sense since I’m there seven days and seven nights a week," chef Ben Deforest of Red Cat Kitchen at Ken'n'Beck told Oak Bluffs selectmen.
The man in charge of the cuisine at a popular Oak Bluffs dinner spot is now the restaurant manager as well, following approval by town selectmen last month. "I think it’s a decision that makes sense, since I’m there seven days and seven nights a week," said chef Ben Deforest of Red Cat Kitchen at Ken'n'Beck at an April 23 selectmen's meeting. Restaurant owner Carol Ward and her attorney Howard Miller attended the meeting, Miller telling selectmen that "it was decided since (Deforest) was doing such a good job, he ought to be responsible for day to day operations under the license.
