Forecasters say the snow should taper off this afternoon but that the wind warning could be extended further and that the combination of wet snow and gusty winds could produce power outages. At midday Sunday, Dukes County Emergency Management director Chuck Cotnoir told Patch via email that NStar reported no outages on Martha's Vineyard. Verizon telephone landlines, Verizon and AT&T cell service and Comcast internet and television service were all still operational on the Island, Cotnoir said.
