Great news...Sunday Morning jazz will be back, I hope!

Chris, in the 1970s it would have been WVOI, our first Island station which was founded by the lateRead More Bob Windsor. Much loved, it did not survive more than a few years but paved the way for WMVY which signed on in 1981.
William Waterway November 10, 2013 at 08:37 am
Back in the early 80s, WMVY would do an hour news program at the end of every day. Jay Saper wasRead More great as WMVY's news-hour host - he moved on into doing international news for AP or UPI. Back then, WMVY was laid back - even let me host half-hour poetry programs from time to time.
Jane Fonda photobombs Carly Simon and Michelle Pfeiffer in a party photo Simon later posted to her Facebook page. (Facebook screen shot)
Paul French November 3, 2013 at 03:28 pm
I personally dont think she has a good sense of humor by posting this snapshot on her FacebookRead More page! Wonder where Carly was when her friend Hanoi Jane was hanging out with the North Vietnamese laughing, photobombing and badmouthing our American soldiers while they were just a few miles away being beat and tortured!
Louisa Hufstader (Editor) November 3, 2013 at 04:58 pm
I'm guessing Carly Simon was pretty busy taking care of her own business in 1972! Anyone remember aRead More song called "You're So Van"?

VW I hope.

Do the young people I know make damaging, calculated, hateful "mistakes" that show a lackRead More of compassion and every type of ignorance they were brought up with? No.

It's unfair to associate the store in any way with the Facebook post. According to the Our MarketRead More website, "It has come to our attention that a former employee was photographed in a very inappropriate photo. This photo has NOTHING to do with Our Market."

The Vineyard still has a radio station: WVVY, the low-power FM community-run station whose motto is "You never know what you'll hear next."
chris gargan September 7, 2013 at 09:05 am
When I first came to the Vineyard in the early 80's (82 I think), Martha's Vineyard radio was myRead More favorite thing about the island. Eclectic, surprising, incredibly varied it stood far apart from any other station I was familiar with. And it was the only station that ever played Kate Taylor. Over the years it seemed to become a bit more formulaic but it still saddened me when it disappeared. I'm hoping that it returns to its roots. I'm trying to stream it, but to no avail. Good luck WVVY!!!
"We were the #1 Trending Topic on Twitter throughout the United States (see below) and have obviously caught on," wrote David Broome, producer of TV's "The Vineyard," in an email to Martha's Vineyard Patch. (Submitted image)

I heard from a reliable source that "That Black Dog Show" is going to be sponsored byRead More wanna-be competitor Menemsha Blues for season 2... ;^) jk
Resident25 September 5, 2013 at 08:48 pm
It is neither Reality nor a professionally scripted show. It is just awful.
ksw430 September 6, 2013 at 08:24 am
The people who "love" this show are probably too stupid to enjoy the island. They're theRead More type who call me about renting our home and are surprised it's an island - without a bridge.
