Sunny Vineyard Weekend Offers Much to Do

Forecasters say this will be a picture-perfect September weekend. Here are five things to do on Martha's Vineyard while the sun shines Saturday and Sunday.

  1. A cloudy Friday will give way to two glorious, sunny September days with temperatures expected to near 70 on Saturday and reach past the mid-60s Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
  2. That makes it perfect weather for antiquing, thrifting and hitting Yard Sales on the Vineyard and Cape: Here's the Map.
  3. Saturday, you can tour 16 Artists Open Studios on Martha's Vineyard from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $30.
  4. Saturday is also National Electric Vehicle Plug-in Day and you can take part in the festivities under the solar canopy at Cronig's in Vineyard Haven starting at 9 a.m.
  5. The Derby Kayak Challenge is on this weekend, with special prizes for the biggest fish caught from kayaks. Find out all about it at mvderby.com and keep up with all the latest Derby results on the MV Patch Sports page.
