Library Book Sales, Amnesties and Events

There's no "off-season" for Martha's Vineyard librarians. Here are some of the events and activities happening this winter at libraries around the Island. To find out more, visit your local library, its website or its Facebook page.

The Aquinnah Public Library is offering a fine amnesty to all who bring back their overdue materials along with a donation for the Island Food Pantry, such as canned goods, packaged meals, paper napkins, shampoo and the like.

The Chilmark Free Public Library offers free tech help on the first Monday of each month, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for patrons seeking to access library materials on their electronic devices.

The Edgartown Public Library is holding a fine amnesty just like Aquinnah's: In January and February, bring back your overdue materials and a donation for the Food Pantry and your fines will be forgiven. This offer does not apply to lost or damaged materials.

The Oak Bluffs Public Library has a program to deliver books weekly to town residents who are homebound for medical reasons.

The West Tisbury Free Public Library has a Monday night knitting group.

The Vineyard Haven Public Library has announced the return of its monthly book sales at a new time: Starting this weekend, the sales will be held the third Saturday of the month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the library on Main Street.
