UPDATED: Kids Improv Show, Live Music Dance, Rare Brickyard Hike

For your weekend agenda: Five fun things to do on Martha's Vineyard this Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 18 and Jan. 19, 2013.


1. Saturday, come cheer on the girls MVRHS Basketball teams vs N. Reading: JV 1:45pm, V 3:15pm at the MVRHS gymnasium. Free.

2. Watch the IMP students in grades 1- 10 show off the skills they learned in their after school improv class, Saturday at 7 p.m. at Alex's Place at the Y. Everything you'll hear onstage will be improvised on the spot by the young performers; tickets are just $5.

3. Check out what's happening at Pathways in Chilmark Saturday starting at 7 p.m. (doors open 6 p.m.): First Multi-Arts Installation of 2014.

4. The Trustees of Reservations' Saving Special Places Winter Walking Series gives hikers a once-a-year chance to explore the Brickyard Industries property in Chilmark: See old cottage, walk the brickwork ruins, and hear the stories of a once prosperous industry. 1 p.m. Sunday: $10 for nonmembers, kids $3.

5. Johnny Hoy & The Bluefish say "Public Dancing ALLOWED!!!" when they play at the Chilmark Community Center Sunday at 7:30 p.m. UPDATED: Admission is free to ages 12 and younger, $10 for all others.
