Martha's Vineyard could get three to five inches of snow tonight and another six to 10 inches Friday, according to Chuck Cotnoir of Dukes County Emergency Management.

On the mainland, accumulations of more than a foot are predicted. Both on and off Island, driving is already becoming difficult and is expected to become more hazardous as winds increase, darkness falls and snowfall thickens.

The wind chill overnight is expected to drop to 5 degrees Fahrenheit, plunging as low as 8 degrees below zero by Friday afternoon, Cotnoir said.
