'Frankenstein' Leaps from London Stage to Vineyard Screen

It's "Halloween for adults," says Richard Paradise of the Martha's Vineyard Film Center, which screens director Danny Boyle's acclaimed National Theatre production this Thursday night, Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.

The Martha's Vineyard Film Center has a Halloween treat in store for theater lovers with this weekend's screenings of the London stage production of "Frankenstein."

The 2012 National Theatre production, directed by Oscar-winner Danny Boyle of "Trainspotting" and "Slumdog Millionaire," stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller, who split the Olivier Award for Best Actor for their interchanging roles as Frankenstein and his monstrous creation.

It shows at 7:30 p.m. Halloween night and at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 and Sunday, Nov. 3 at the film center in the Tisbury Marketplace, 79 Beach Road in Vineyard Haven.

It's "Halloween for adults," says the film center's Richard Paradise. Ticket information is available at mvfilmsociety.com.
