Derby's Final Weekend: Prizes, Raffle, Food and Fun
The 68th annual Martha's Vineyard Striped Bass & Bluefish Derby draws to a close this weekend with the final weigh-in Saturday night followed by Sunday's all-ages, free awards ceremony and grand raffle.
The 68th annual Martha's Vineyard Striped Bass & Bluefish Derby draws to a close this weekend with the final weigh-in Saturday night followed by Sunday's all-ages, free awards ceremony and grand raffle.
Derby weigh-ins take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily through Oct. 19, the last day of the Vineyard's iconic fishing competition.
Sunday's celebration begins at 1 p.m. at Farm Neck Golf Club, 1 Farm Neck Way in Oak Bluffs.
The free, all-ages event includes "food, fun, our huge charitable raffle, the awarding of prizes and our famous Derby Grand Prize Key Ceremony," according to the Derby Facebook page.
Doors open at 12:30 p.m.
Derby Seeks Sportsman Nominations: Honor the true sportsman (or woman) in your life: Submit a nomination for the Martha's Vineyard Surfcasters Association: 2013 Sportsmanship Award at Derby HQ before the final weigh-in Saturday night.
