Fewer chili cooks took part in this year's charity contest than in past years, according to a comment from the Big Chili Contest Facebook page administrator that reads, in part,
"Yes, definitely fewer vendors this year (16 this year; it's usually around 22-25 but has been as high as 30). Some years it's up, some it's down. Three longtime participants (each of whom often make TWO chilis) didn't enter. But we didn't hear anything about Red Tape being an issue ... Here's hoping that next year, folks who thought there should be more chili, will take the plunge and enter, themselves!"
