Veterans Day Events, Turtle Time, 'Annie, Jr.'

Five things to do this week on MV. Find more in our Today on Martha's Vineyard, Events and Weekender Pages. Got something happening? Post it on Patch and we'll get the word out.

  1. It's a three-day weekend for many Islanders, including schoolchildren: Here's What's Open, Closed On Veterans Day On The Vineyard.
  2. If you're reading this early in the morning, volunteers are always needed to place flags in Oak Grove Cemetery, Vineyard Haven for the Veterans Day display.
  3. And what better way to honor our Island vets and service members than to bring the whole family to the Veterans Day Parade in Oak Bluffs? It starts at 10:45 a.m. at Nancy's.
  4. Looking ahead this week: Thursday morning at the Oak Bluffs Public Library, all ages can learn about the Island's four native turtle species in a Felix Neck program starting at 10:30 a.m. Free.
  5. Friday and Saturday, the Edgartown School presents Annie the Musical. This "Annie, Jr." production is brought to life by 20 actors in grades five through eight with stage direction by Donna Swift -- who recently directed a delightful evening of fourth-grade musical theater at Tisbury School -- and musical direction by Kelly Sullivan.
For more things to do on the Vineyard every day of the week, take a look at our Events listings. You can find our our daily tips in Today on Martha's Vineyard and the Weekender. Do you have events coming up? Post them on Patch and we'll get the word out!
