- Golf at one of the President's favorite courses and have a great time while helping Rotary fund its good works on the Island: The Martha's Vineyard Rotary Club Golf Tournament at the Vineyard Golf Club starts at 9 a.m. Monday. Call for details: Dee 508-627-1161.
- Edgartown selectmen meet at 4 p.m. at Town Hall to hear a presentation on the Island's housing needs assessment study and award bids for a pumper truck and the job of renovating Town Hall's exterior.
- October begins Tuesday, and with it Arts Martha's Vineyard's second annual Creative Economy Speaker Series. This bring-your-lunch series at the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown invites conversations about the Island's creative economy. This week, Lyz Crane of ArtPlace is the featured guest. 11:30 a.m., free admission, coffee and water.
- Chilmark selectmen's meetings now begins at a new time, 7 p.m. This Tuesday, the board holds a public hearing on community development strategy, gets an update on Squibnicket Beach and discusses the solar project, among other business: Here's the full agenda.
