Fertilizer Limits Proposed on Martha's Vineyard
Five things to know on the Vineyard as the week begins, including an Intro to Computers class and a live jam session, all free.
1. Tuesday, The Oak Bluffs Public Library offers a free basic Intro to Computers course, covering everything from powering up to mouse skills and basic computer functions. No pre-registration is necessary for the one-hour class which meets at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
2. Parents interested in a tuition-free alternative to the Island's traditional public schools are invited to a Charter School Open House Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Martha's Vineyard Public Charter School, 424 State Road in West Tisbury.
3. The Martha's Vineyard Boards of Health are holding a joint public hearing on proposed fertilizer limits, Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the high school cafeteria. This initial hearing will be followed by hearings before individual town Boards of Health and before the Martha's Vineyard Commission.
