Working Martha's Vineyard

Lucas Amarins is all smiles when he talks about his summer job at Menemsha Blues.

Islander Lucas Amarins will be back at in the fall, but this summer he's working at in Vineyard Haven. We caught up with him between selling t-shirts and sun visors to find out what he loves about his job and working on Martha's Vineyard

Q. How long have you been working at Menemsha Blues?

A. I actually started here in the beginning of June.

Q. How long have you been living on Martha's Vineyard?

A. I'm from Vineyard Haven. I live here year round, I was born here.

Q. What is your favorite part about working at Menemsha Blues?

A. Actually you meet a lot of people and it's a lot of fun to show them  around. It's really fun.

Q. Are you going back to school in the fall?

A. Well I'm 16 actually so I'm going into junior year right now. I'm pretty excited.

Q. What's your favorite part about living on Martha's Vineyard?

A. The summer. It's pretty fun. We get a lot of tourists. It goes from like 10 thousand people to 200 thousand people here.

Q. Do you have an plans for after high school?

A. I'm already thinking about college. I really want to go to NYU and do criminal justice.

Q. Would you say your dream job is in criminal justice?

A. Yeah I want to be a criminal justice lawyer.
