How to Stay Cool on Martha's Vineyard? Hit the Beach!

Temps in the 90s makes staying cool a challenge, especially when you don't have air conditioning. When all else fails, head to the beach.

Yesterday's highs were up in the 90s and while a thunderstorm threatens to cool it down today, at press time, it's 91 degrees on Martha's Vineyard.

With many Island homes unequipped with AC, the beaches can be a great place to cool off. Karen Duffy and Judy Lutender were the only two people at Lobsterville Beach in Aquinnah. Duffy explained, "I was sitting on my adirondak chair and I got a nice breeze." The two friends did not know why more people were not at the beach. But Lutender said the part that mattered most, "It will be our first swim of the year!"

Chuli Bread was with her family at Eastville Beach. Bread explained that unlike most people, she loves the heat.
