UPDATED: Island Schools Closed Friday

The first snow day of 2014 has arrived on Martha's Vineyard.

Martha's Vineyard public schools, the Garden Gate Child Development Center and the Martha's Vineyard Boys & Girls Club are closed Friday due to the snowstorm.

Martha's Vineyard Boys & Girls Club posts on Facebook: 

"ALERT: School is being dismissed at noon today (1/2/14) because of the winter storm, which means the Club's After School Program will also be closed. Be safe."

Elementary schools will be dismissed at noon and the high school lets out at 11 a.m., according to the CBS list of school closings.

The Garden Gate Child Development Center follows the public schools in closing due to weather.
