'Fast' or 'Boring,' School Begins On Martha's Vineyard

The start of the Vineyard's school year is a time of both tradition and transition: "We have 14 people in new positions," many of them new hires, said Sean Mulvey, associate principal at Tisbury School, Monday morning.

More than 2,000 students returned to public school on Martha's Vineyard Monday, many of them meeting new teachers on their first day in the classroom.

"We have 14 people in new positions," said Sean Mulvey, associate principal at Tisbury School, Monday morning. Several are new hires, he said.

According to the Vineyard Gazette, a wave of retirements among Martha's Vineyard teachers has resulted in many new faces on school staffs.
