Cooking Through Cultures: Wampanoag Cooking

In collaboration with Adult and Community Education of Martha's Vineyard, the Museum gives you the opportunity to explore culture through cuisine.

Kristina Hook-Leslie will share a recipe passed down from her ancestors as she prepare venison stew in the Wampanoag tradition. Kristina Hook-Leslie grew up learning about foraging for ingredients and preparing native food from her mother and grandmother in Aquinnah. Today, an elder in the Wampanoag tribe, she shares her stories and food preparation methods that date back centuries.
