Home of the Week Overlooks Edgartown Harbor

Complete with a private beach deep-water dock where you can tie up several boats, this 1990s harborfront home near the Edgartown Lighthouse was built to match its 19th-century neighbors.

Until the late 20th century, the hill overlooking Edgartown Lighthouse was largely bare of construction. You can still find many locals with fond memories of sledding and playing touch football there, before the property was subdivided into a series of homes that largely block the passing view.

But from those homes, the view remains sublime: the lighthouse, Edgartown Harbor and Chappaquiddick beyond.

One of the houses, at 119 North Water Street, is listed for sale at $10,900,000.

Built in 1995, the property has three bedrooms and three bathrooms in just over 2,000 square feet of living space on a 16,000-square-foot lot.

It also has a private beach and deep-water dock at the end of its long, narrow yard alongside the public pathway to the lighthouse.

  • The second floor master bedroom also has its own waterfront deck.
  • There are two other bedrooms each with private baths, a gourmet kitchen and a luxurious exterior shower.
  • Owners have plans for a simple 2nd floor addition, which would accommodate a 4th bedroom.
  • Completing the property is a brick parking area, large waterfront yard, private beach and deep-water pier."
