Winter Storm Watch: Island, Cape Could See 'Blizzard Conditions'

Heavy snow and hazardous wind chills could be coming our way, according to the National Weather Service, which is tracking the first storm of 2014. We'll keep you posted here.

The National Weather Service has announced a winter storm watch for the Cape and Islands for late Wednesday night through Friday morning.

On the mainland, the NWS also announced a coastal flood watch from Thursday morning through Friday afternoon in counties including Barnstable.

"A coastal storm will bring the potential for heavy snow along with dangerously cold wind chills and perhaps near blizzard  onditions possible for a time along the eastern Massachusetts coast," according to the NWS.
