A majority of Oak Bluffs voters Tuesday night approved three locations for potential medical marijuana clinics, Island newspapers report.
The special town meeting vote removed from potential sites the Dukes County Avenue area, which parents including Guinevere Cramer had argued could expose children to clinic activity if one were located there.
The three remaining parcels where the town could allow a permitted dispensary are one on Holmes Hole Road and two on the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven road near the asphalt plant and roundabout.
If voters had not taken action to delineate a dispensary district, the newspapers report, the town would have no say in where a state-permitted marijuana facility could set up shop.
