Storm Watch Upgraded to Storm Warning for Island, Blizzard Warning on Cape

Heavy snow and Arctic wind chills are predicted for tonight into early Friday morning with blizzard conditions expected on Cape Cod, according to the National Weather Service.

At 3:52 a.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for every Massachusetts county except Barnstable, which is under a blizzard warning.

The storm warning is in effect until 10 a.m. Friday, according to the NWS warning, which reads in part:

"A coastal storm will bring heavy snow along with dangerously cold wind chills tonight into early Friday morning. Blizzard conditions are expected across portions of eastern Plymouth County and Cape Cod tonight into Friday morning."
