Scott Brown asks Oak Bluffs Selectmen Not to Revoke Taxi Driver's License

Brown came to defense of Morgan Reitzas, the cab driver involved in the scuffle with a Republican Party video tracker

In a hand-delivered letter to reporters waiting his arrival today at the headquarters hotel of the Republican National Convention, Senator Scott Brown asked Oak Bluffs selectmen not to revoke the license of Morgan Reitzas who was in a at last weekend’s Elizabeth Warren event in Ocean Park.

According to the Boston Globe, “The effort came after a week in which some Brown aides but particularly the state GOP itself pushed video of the incident, alleging it was emblematic of Warren campaign bullying and intolerance.”

The Globe reported that Brown’s letter stated, “I do not think that taking away this man’s livelihood is the appropriate response to what occurred. We are in tough economic times.” He also said, “Mr. Reitzas was put into a situation that is foreign to most people, he did not understand what was going on and he let his emotions get the better of him. While this doesn’t excuse his behavior, Mr. Reitzas has recognized that he was out of line and on his behalf for what happened.”
