More Parking Changes for Vineyard Haven

Selectmen have approved the designation of four 30-minute parking spots on Main Street.

The Tisbury Board of Selectmen has designated four spaces on Main Street to be used for short-term, 30 minute parking. The move comes just two weeks after the selectmen voted to change parking along Main Street , in order to increase the amount of time customers are able to shop and spend in town.

Selectmen said at the time they were in favor of reserving a few short-term spots for customers running quick errands.

The four 30-minute parking spots will be interspersed throughout Main Street, with the first located near Mocha Mott’s coffee shop and Bob’s Pizza & Subs on the first block; a second by Mardell’s Gift Shop, and two others located near Leslie’s Pharmacy and Sovereign Bank. The spots will be located at the end of their respective blocks, per Department of Public Works Director Fred LaPiana's suggestion.
