Member of Obama’s Security Team Not Charged for Allegedly Groping Woman at Island Bar Last Summer

Indecent assault charge against Obama security team member was dropped after a probable cause hearing in Edgartown District Court.

According to the Cape Cod Times website, charges of indecent assault against Air Force Master Sgt. Peter McNally, 31, of Lynn Haven, Fla., were dropped after a probable cause hearing in . The hearing was held in October but it was not open to the public and the outcome was not disclosed.

An additional charge of assault and battery was also dropped at the request of another alleged victim, according to McNally's attorney, James Powderly. An report stated that there was an alleged bar fight on the same night.

McNally was assigned to protect the on the Island last August. According to the Cape Cod Times, “McNally — an explosives disposal expert — initially was accused of fondling a female customer at the in Edgartown on the evening of Aug. 27.”

McNally then went to the on Main Street where he got into a fight with the restaurant manager, Jamie Zambrama.

The Cape Cod Times reported that, “Based on witness statements to the police, McNally started the fight by punching Zambrama in the face, (Edgartown police Sgt. Craig Edwards) said. When police arrived, they found McNally with injuries that required hospitalization. Zambrama did not need to go to the hospital.”
