Election Results: Roundabout, No; Beer and Wine, Yes

Thursday was a big election night in three towns on the island. Here are the results of the contested races, as well as the question on everybody's mind - The Roundabout

The island has spoken. Three of the towns on Martha's Vineyard - West Tisbury, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown, had important elections last night, Thursday, April 12.

 In , since the town declined to add the non-binding referendum on the roundabout to the ballot, the only contested race was for the Board of Selectmen.  

In that race, both of the incumbent entries came out on top.  The votes were as follows:

Registered voter count: 3,245

Turnout:  891 (84 absentee)

 

In , the voter turnout was strong, in part due to the many contested races and three additional questions, including the proposed roundabout in Oak Bluffs.  The winners and ballots cast are as follows:

While the West Tisbury town hall meeting was very crowded on Wednesday night, there were more controversial ballot questions than contested seats for the election. Both the Roundabout and Beer and Wine sales were up for consideration in this election.  Contested races are as follows:
