2 Summer Liquor Stores Approved for Edgartown

Two seasonal all-alcohol package stores proposed for downtown Edgartown got the green light from selectmen Monday.

Nevin Square and Main Street in Edgartown may both see new liquor boutiques this summer, following approval by the town selectmen Monday afternoon.

One shop is slated for the Nevin Square complex at 29 Winter Street, where it will occupy the first floor (#23) and basement (#26), selling fine wines, craft beers and other products, according to Eve Vincent, attorney for applicant Sarah Elizabeth Webber.

The other, owned by Barbara Courtney, is planned for 65 Main Street and in addition to alcoholic beverages will sell picnic supplies, gourmet foods and "a unique mix of home products," according to a statement read to the selectmen by her son Ted Courtney.
