UPDATED: Single-Car Crash at Oak Bluffs Roundabout Sends Driver to Hospital
The noon-hour crash slowed traffic approaching the roundabout in Oak Bluffs. The extent of injury was not immediately known. "The little poodle in the backseat seemed unharmed, barking, 'what the hell?' as he was let out," an eyewitness posted.
Updated 6:30 p.m. - This is the first collision at the new roundabout that has required an ambulance, the Martha's Vineyard Times reports.
Updated 4 p.m. - The eyewitness who reported this collision to Martha's Vineyard Patch subsequently posted further on the MV Patch Facebook page:
"Both airbags were deployed, for the young daughter (driver) and her father (passenger). As the car slammed into the granite curbing, the young woman may have some big wrist injuries from holding onto the steering wheel during impact. She was transported to the hospital. The little poodle in the backseat seemed unharmed, barking, 'what the hell?' as he was let out."

The Oak Bluffs roundabout was the scene of a single-vehicle collision during the noon hour Monday, reports Patch user James, who posted a photo on Facebook showing a disabled Honda sedan with emergency workers nearby.
James posted that there were "personal injuries involved" in the crash that left the Honda stranded on one of the traffic separators approaching the roundabout, but no official word was immediately available.
