Blizzard Watch Declared for the Cape and Islands

A blizzard watch for the Cape and Islands was issued on Monday afternoon by the National Weather Service for a 24 hour period from 1 p.m. Tuesday through 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The warning was issued at 3:58 p.m. on Monday.
The storm is state-wide, but the so-called “jackpot” area will be on Cape Cod, with 8-12 inches expected. Elsewhere in the state accumulations of 4-8 inches are now expected.
The snow is expected to start on Tuesday afternoon and last through Wednesday morning.

"Snow covered roadways will cause difficult driving conditions,” the weather service said. “Periods of moderate to heavy snow along with gusty winds will cause visibilities to drop to one quarter of a mile or less.”
The wind will blow from the north at 20-30 miles per hour with gusts to 50 mph
