Marijuana Bust Reported in Oak Bluffs: 4 Arrested

A traffic stop turned up drugs, cash, a safe and a scale, reports the Martha's Vineyard Times. Two of the suspects were arrested last month for violating an Oak Bluffs noise bylaw during a loud party. Arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Four young people were arrested June 29 after Oak Bluffs police stopped their car and found close to a pound of marijuana and more than $5,000 in cash as well as a safe and a scale, according to a report in the Martha's Vineyard Times

Two of the suspects, Aaron Bezahler and Ryan Dunbar of Tisbury, had previously been arrested June 9 when police were called to a loud party in Oak Bluffs (see 5 Arrested, Ages 15-21, at Oak Bluffs Party). A 15-year-old arrested after trying to run away from the party was found to be carrying bagged marijuana, cash and a scale, police said.

According to the Times report, Dunbar, 20, was driving the car Friday when police stopped him for speeding on County Road. A search of the car and passengers turned up the drugs and cash.

The four suspects face charges including driving under the influence, underage drinking, possession of marijuana to distribute and possession of marijuana, the Times reports. The newspaper initially identified 20-year-old suspect Sean Geddis as a convicted robber, but subsequently issued a correction saying his brother Brett Geddis was convicted of the robbery.
