I really am becoming a fan of your paper but I have to say I don't think I'm alone in the opinion that we'd appreciate it if you wouldn't lead off with such disturbing headlines as guns, robberies, etc. when they have nothing to do with our island. I could see if your paper was called the SouthShorepatch but this news isn't even from the Vineyard. I am a broker here on the island and know that my clients choose to buy here because of the fact that (so far anyway) we have been spared this type of everyday event (not that there isn't an anomaly ever now and then). Perhaps you could lead off with the Vineyard top stories such as the Ag Hall was packed on Christmas Eve for the First Congregational pagent or the red stocking helped over 400 families this year, etc. and then list all the crime off-island? I realize these headlines don't have the shock value the others do but this is why we live here. Does anyone else feel the same?
