Driver Dunks Audi in Oak Bluffs Lake

After driving his car into Sunset Lake Friday night, an Oak Bluffs man walked away with nothing more serious than a citation for negligent operation, Island newspapers report.

A 51-year-old Oak Bluffs man drove his 2002 Audi into Sunset Lake at around 9:30 Friday night, according to reports in the Vineyard Gazette and Martha's Vineyard Times.

Anthony Morris was unhurt and unimpaired but received a citation for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, police told reporters after the mishap.

The Times reports Morris fell asleep behind the wheel and narrowly missed a telephone pole on his way into the water. The car was towed.
