Charges Dropped Against Ex-Officer in Tisbury Arrest

According to the Vineyard Gazette, Kelly Kershaw's attorney and the Tisbury Police Department agreed to having all charges against her dismissed.

Former Tisbury police officer Kelly Kershaw was in court last Friday to see all four charges against her dismissed, reports the Vineyard Gazette.

In a case that began when a dryer fire broke out at her home last May, Kershaw had been charged with hindering a firefighter, a felony, and three misdemeanors: assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct and threatening to commit a crime.

According to the Gazette report, Kershaw's attorney and the police department agreed to having the charges dropped.

Kershaw was let go by the town in June after an investigation into reported violations of police department policy, unrelated to her arrest in May.
