4 Arrested in Oak Bluffs Bar Fight

Oak Bluffs police say they broke up a closing-time conflict between two men outside the Sand Bar, and arrested a brother and sister who were "extremely disruptive and vulgar." Arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Three men and a woman were arrested early July 25 after two of the men began fighting outside the Sand Bar in Oak Bluffs, according to a police report on file at Edgartown District Court.

Mike Tebeau of Boston and Michael O'Donoghue of Oak Bluffs were trading punches when police arrived at around 1 a.m., according to the report.

As police separated the two combatants, O'Donoghue's wife, Tebeau's girlfriend Kristen Reid and her brother Kevin Reid complained to the officers, the report continues:

The Reids were particularly vocal, according to police: "They were extremely disruptive and vulgar while they talked to us," wrote Officer Gamble in his account of the incident.

As the Reids shouted at police, Tebeau also was calling the officers obscene names and challenging them to fight, according to the report.

O'Donoghue's wife was spared, but the Reids were arrested for disorderly conduct. Tebeau and O'Donoghue face charges of disorderly conduct and assault and battery, "due to the mutual nature of this fight in the middle of a public roadway," the report concludes.

Tebeau was also charged with resisting arrest, court records indicate.
