2 Arrested in Alleged Drug Deal in Oak Bluffs

Officer Jeff Labell wrote in his police report that he saw the two men making what appeared to be a drug transaction in the alley by daRosa's at around 11:10 p.m. July 4.

Two men face criminal charges after Oak Bluffs police observed an alleged drug transaction July 4 and seized suspected marijuana, drug-distribution equipment and prescription pills, according to documents on file at Edgartown District Court.

Officer Jeff Labell wrote in his police report that he saw Tyler Pelletier, 21 and Gustavo B. Souza, 18, making what appeared to be a drug transaction in the alley by daRosa's at aorund 11:10 p.m.

Pelletier at first told police he was going to buy “weed” from Souza, Labell reported, adding "Several moments later he changed his story and told me he was going to sell Souza weed for $60."

Police searched Pelletier and found suspected marijuana, drug capsules, a digital scale, and plastic bags, Labell's report continued.

Pelletier has been charged with possession with intent to distribute a class C substance (marijuana), possession with intent to distribute a class C substance (Lorezapam) and possession of a class E substance (perphenazine), according to court documents.

Souza is charged with conspiracy to violate drug law.
