What Is Your Fondest Memory of Fenway Park?

Today is the 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park. The Red Sox will play the New York Yankees, the team they played on this day in 1912.

If you live on the Cape and Islands, the oldest ball field in the country is practically in your backyard, after a two hour drive!

Yet, it's worth the time and travel to see the Red Sox play at Fenway Park.

Yesterday, after work, of course, I went to the open house at Fenway Park and toured the stadium with thousands of my friends, walked on the track and took this photo from one of the private suites that was open to the public.

A once in a lifetime opportunity for me!

Maybe we will see you on TV at today's game!

Hi Gene, I'd give anything to have seen Nun's Day!

For a 12 year old who just received first Communion it was quite startling. Didn t know nuns were allowed to have so much fun !

October 2, 1978. A one-game playoff between the Sox and the Yankees, both of whom won 99 games during the regular season. Sox up 2-0. Injured shortstop Bucky Dent to the plate with two men on. He fouls one off his injured right foot and limps for several minutes. Takes the next pitch just over the monster. Sox come back with two more runs, but so do the Yanks, who go on to win (and win the World Series). A great game between two great rivals. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=3224125

Fonder still -- watching Bobby Valentine repeatedly booed (4/21/12) for his utter incompetence leading an otherwise fine ball club to a humiliating defeat after being up by 8 runs. This clown will go down as one of the biggest mistakes this franchise has ever made.

Yes, it was quite an extraordinary defeat!
