Post-Hercules Community Open Stage at Alex's Place Was Stellar!

After a powerful winter storm forced the postponement of the monthly Community Open Stage at Alex's Place, the popular venue for teens and the community rebounded with a special Saturday evening event this past weekend. "A large number of teens showed up for the rescheduled date." says Alex's Place Assistant Director, Laurel Redington. "It was a fun, supportive atmosphere, with remarkably talented performers and friends just there to cheer on their peers, some experiencing The Base @ Alex's Place for the first time, and loving it. This is what we hope for, kids discovering how cool this place is, and spreading the word."
7 performers graced the stage and performed both original and cover pieces, some with accompaniment of a dad, sibling or friend, and some solo. "The inclusion of grownups into the Open Stage experience enhances the event for teens and helps the entire community learn to appreciate the talents of one another, shares Director, Tony Lombardi. "It is just so VINEYARD when all ages are in this special listening room."
Community Open Stage returns to its regular spot on the First Friday of February.
