Excessive sand and salt

Does anybody else think that West  Tisbury spreads too much sand and salt on their roads? Drive up North road from State road towards Chilmark. When you cross the town line into Chilmark at the western entrance to Seven Gates  notice the difference in the amount of sand on the road. Also notice how just as free of ice and snow the road is.
the excessive use of salt is not good for our environment or our cars.
