Community Corner

A great weekend of fun at Alex's Place for adults and teens

The presents are unwrapped, the food is eaten, Santa is on vacation and the post-holiday weekend is arriving.
Enjoy two great events happening at Alex's Place at the YMCA for the community.

On Friday night, December 27th trivia aficionado Ray Whitaker will challenge your senses with a multi-media TRIVIA NIGHT. Returning by popular demand, Trivia night invites you to create a four person team and compete with your friends to try to win the top spot and some cool prizes. Questions will be culled from popular culture and include video and audio questions and a whole lot more. Doors open at 7 pm. Admission is free (donations are welcomed) This is an all ages event so bring grownups and teens.

Saturday night December 28th Alex's Place busts open the doors for a fabulous evening of powerhouse rock featuring 2/3rds of the popular LA rockers, "NO SMALL CHILDREN"  in concert. No Small Children have been performing to packed houses in such places at LA's Viper Room, The House of Blues and a host of other popular venues. Here is your chance to see them in person in a rare east coast performance. Admission is only $10 for adults, $5 for teens and will feature guitarist/vocalist Lisa Parade and bassist/vocalist Joanie Pimental two elementary school teachers by day, and rockers by night.

Alex's Place is located at the YMCA of Martha's Vineyard and houses a state of the art performance space with a great stage, sound and lighting, awesome fresh baked goodies and much more. Showtime is 7:30 pm . Doors open at 7.
